The resort of Southport is a traditional Victorian era English seaside town. It has a wealth of history and is still one of the North West’s great holiday destinations to this day. There is much to do in the town with many attractions for those who do not sail including the famous Southport Pier, a wealth of shops and eateries and the famous British Lawn Mower Museum.

Southport is based around 1 hour 15 minutes drive from Manchester airport where any number of scheduled flights arrive from all over the world.

There are the usual car rental offices on site.

Liverpool Airport is under an hour from Southport and has a number of scheduled European flights coming in and out each day along with the usual car rental offices.

From Manchester Airport the most direct route is to take the M56 West, join the M6 North then take the M58 West. Leave at Junction 3 and take the A570 through Ormskirk and follow the signs for Southport.
